About the Artist
Fisun Erden's oil paintings are observations of subtle, intricate details of daily life that often go unnoticed. Stylistically, they are straightforward and meticulous. While she has lived in different cities on three continents, Erden has always admired the architecture and how it forms the ambiance of a place. She is fascinated by the unwritten story of a building and the geometric forms in urban landscapes and public spaces with brilliant sunlight and shadow. Additionally, her engineering background nurtured her vision of discovering clear lines and compelling proportions in a building outside or inside. Erden defines the connection between unknown individuals and spaces or objects, combining the composition of a room and a human figure in her paintings. On the other hand, opposite to the broader world of open spaces, Erden also searches for the aesthetic and relationship with the individuals focusing on objects that are often unnoticed, which form a whole interior in her still-life paintings. So, to explore these, Erden has been making oil paintings of buildings, interiors, and objects.
Fisun Erden is a Turkish-born artist living in Florida.
